Imagine a Jewish/Hebrew after-school program where kids don't want to leave.
MoEd North Bethesda operates out of Aish Center of Greater Washington, 11418 Old Georgetown Rd, Rockville, MD
Transportation is provided from nearby Montgomery County Public School students by county school buses.
MoEd offers a different approach, which combines fun with learning: it gives children the opportunity to be acquainted with everyday Hebrew (conversation, reading and writing), Jewish tradition, history and heritage of the Jewish people and the state of Israel, while forming a warm, loving community of Hebrew affiliated children. And all this is through fun and games. The program is operated by a team of professional Israeli educators and includes:
Hebrew community – practicing communication, reading and storytelling, activities and games
Language acquisition – Instruction of reading and writing in small groups by proficiency level.
Learning about Jewish and Israeli holidays, experiencing the spirit of festivities, and celebrating together with families as special events in MoEd.
Support for homework preparation as needed.
Healthy snack and outdoor play.
The MoEd community helps kids preserve and improve their Hebrew proficiency in a natural, supportive environment, built to each child's needs and aptitude. Our goal is that all MoEd graduates will develop a sense of warm, supportive community and persist in their love for the Hebrew language and tradition. A sample of what our kids say is on our website, here.
